Privacy Policy

1. About this policy
TestFit is a test-preparation and learning platform operated by StudyFit Inc., a Delaware corporation (“TestFit”, “we”, “us”).
This policy explains what information we collect through testfit.app and prep.testfit.app, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and how long we keep it. It applies to everyone who uses TestFit: students, teachers, coaches, and administrators.
2. How TestFit accounts work
TestFit is provided to schools, tutoring centres, and other educational organizations (“Organizations”). We do not sell accounts directly to students or families, and there is no open public registration.
Accounts are created by an administrator at an Organization, or by a student using an invitation link that Organization issued. Every account belongs to exactly one Organization.
For student information, the Organization decides what is collected and why, and we process it on the Organization’s behalf and under its instructions. If you are a student or a parent and you want to see, correct, or delete a student’s information, please contact the Organization first — they can act on it directly, and we will support them. You can also contact us using the details in section 13 and we will help.
3. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email address, and password. Teachers and administrators also have a role and an Organization. Students may additionally have a phone number, school, expected high-school graduation year, gender, and a timezone and interface language — the Organization decides which of these it records.
Sign-in information from Google, if you use Google to sign in. See section 4.
Schoolwork. Answers to questions, essays and written responses, scores, timing, and the progress records, reports, and study plans built from them. Teachers’ comments about a student’s progress are stored with that student’s record.
Enquiries. If you ask for a demo or join the waitlist, we keep what you tell us on that form: your email address, and any of your name, organization, role, the tests you teach, roughly how many students you prepare, when you are free to meet, your time zone, an alternative contact such as a WeChat ID, and any note you add. We use it to reply and to arrange the demo, and nothing else. You do not need an account to send one, and you can ask us to delete it at any time — see section 10.
Technical information. Information your browser sends when you use TestFit — device and browser type, and the timing and sequence of actions during a test or lesson. We record this so timed assessments work correctly, so answers are not lost if a connection drops, and so we can diagnose faults. We also keep error reports when something goes wrong.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not run third-party analytics on TestFit.
4. Signing in with Google
You can choose to sign in to TestFit with your Google Account. This section explains exactly what that involves.
What we access. Only your basic Google profile: your name, your email address, your profile picture, and the identifier Google assigns to your account. We request only the email, profile and openid scopes. We do not request, receive, or access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Classroom, or any other Google service or data.
How we use it. Solely to create your TestFit account and to sign you in. Your name and email identify you to teachers and administrators within your own Organization, exactly as they would if you had registered with a password. Your profile picture, if you have one, may appear as your avatar in the interface.
Who we share it with. We do not sell, rent, or trade information received from Google, and we do not share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers listed in section 6, who process it only to run TestFit for us and under contract.
What we never do with it. We do not use information received from Google for advertising of any kind, including targeted, personalized, or retargeted advertising. We do not sell it to data brokers or anyone else. We do not use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. We do not use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. We do not use it for any purpose other than providing and improving TestFit’s sign-in and account features.
How we protect it. It is held in the same encrypted, access-controlled systems as the rest of your account information, described in section 8.
How long we keep it, and how to remove it. We keep it for as long as your TestFit account is active, and we delete it when your account is deleted, as described in section 9. You can disconnect TestFit from your Google Account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have the information already stored deleted, contact your Organization or write to us using the details in section 13.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- create accounts, sign people in, and keep accounts secure;
- deliver lessons and assessments, and mark and score work;
- show students their own progress, and show teachers and administrators the progress of students at their Organization;
- produce report cards, study plans, and progress reports;
- send necessary messages about the account, such as confirming an email address or resetting a password;
- diagnose faults, fix bugs, and keep the Service reliable and secure;
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
6. Who we share information with
Within your Organization. Teachers, coaches, and administrators at a student’s Organization can see that student’s work and progress. That is the point of the platform. We do not make one Organization’s people or data visible to another Organization.
Service providers. We use a small number of providers to run TestFit, each processing information only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us: cloud hosting and database (the application and its data); file storage (uploaded documents and images); email delivery (account emails such as confirmations and password resets); error monitoring (error reports, which include the account identifier and email address of the signed-in user); and automated content and marking tools (the specific text described in section 7).
Legal. We may disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or of TestFit.
Business transfer. If TestFit is acquired or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will give notice before information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
7. Automated processing
Parts of TestFit use third-party AI services for specific, limited tasks:
- reading text from uploaded documents and scans;
- tagging questions against a skills taxonomy;
- generating practice variants of existing questions;
- where an Organization enables them, preparing draft scores and draft written comments on student work, which a teacher or coach reviews before they count.
Student names and email addresses are removed before any text is sent to these services, and put back afterwards, so the service receiving the text does not receive a student’s identity.
We do not permit these providers to use TestFit’s data to train their models, and we do not train models on student work.
8. Where information is stored, and how it is protected
TestFit’s application and database are hosted in South Korea. Some supporting services — backups, email delivery, and error monitoring — may process information in other countries. If you are using TestFit from outside South Korea, your information will be transferred there.
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls limiting staff access to what is needed to operate and support the Service, and stored passwords that are hashed rather than kept in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and review them as TestFit grows.
9. How long we keep information
We keep account and schoolwork information for as long as the account is active and the Organization’s relationship with us continues, because progress records are only useful over time.
When an account is deleted, we remove the personal information associated with it from our active systems. When an Organization’s relationship with us ends, we delete or return its data on request.
Backups are kept on a rolling schedule for disaster recovery, so information deleted from our active systems may persist in backups for a period afterwards before being overwritten. We do not restore deleted information from a backup except to recover from a failure.
10. Your choices and requests
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. Students and teachers should ask their Organization first, since the Organization controls the account and can usually act immediately. If you contact us directly using the details in section 13, we will respond within 30 days, and we will work with your Organization where the request concerns student records they control.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will honour them; tell us what you are asking for and we will explain what we can do.
11. Students and children
TestFit is used by school students, including minors. We only ever receive student information from an Organization that has enrolled that student, and we rely on the Organization to confirm that it has the authority to do so and has given any notice or obtained any consent that its policies and local law require, including from a parent or guardian where that applies.
We do not knowingly collect information from a child other than through an Organization in this way. If you believe a child’s information has reached us any other way, contact us and we will delete it.
We never use student information for advertising, never sell it, and never use it to build profiles for any purpose other than the student’s own learning.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as TestFit changes. If a change is material, we will give notice through the Service or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
